Understanding the Profile Menu & Account Settings

The profile menu in the top‑right corner of OwlCloudHost gives you quick access to your files, your account settings, dark mode, and logout. This guide explains every option inside the menu and all tools available inside Account Settings.

🧭 Profile Menu (Top‑Right Corner)

When you click your profile image, you will see:

• My Files (Dashboard) — Opens your main dashboard where you upload and manage files.

• Account Settings — Manage your profile, security, social logins, and preferences.

• Dark Mode — Switch between light and dark themes.

• Logout — Safely sign out of your account.

📁 My Files (Dashboard)

This takes you to your main workspace where you can:

• Upload files

• Create folders

• Organize your content

• View recent activity

• Manage your storage

This is the core area for daily use.

Account Settings Overview

Inside Account Settings, users can manage everything related to their identity, security, preferences, and API access. Below is a breakdown of every section.

🖼️ Profile Information

Users can update:

• Profile picture

• Display name

• Email (email users only)

• Basic account details

This helps personalize their account.

🔗 Social Login Management

Users can connect or disconnect:

• Google

• Facebook

• X (Twitter)

If they signed up with email, they can add social logins for faster access.
If they signed up with social login, they can see which provider is linked.

🔒 Password Management

Available only for users who signed up with email.

They can:

• Update their password

• Create a new password if they previously used social login only

• Strengthen account security

Social login users do not need a password unless they choose to add one.

🛡️ Two‑Factor Authentication (Google Authenticator)

Users can enable 2FA for extra protection.

This section shows:

• Scan a QR code with Google Authenticator

• Enter the 6‑digit code to activate

• Require a code every time they log in

This prevents unauthorized access even if someone knows their password.

🌐 Browser Sessions (Recent Activity)

This section shows:

• All active browser sessions

• Device type

• Location (approximate)

• Login time

Users can:

• Review suspicious activity

• Log out of individual sessions

• Log out of all devices at once

This helps detect if their account has been compromised.

🗓️ Preferences (Date, Time & Language)

Users can customize:

• Date format

• Time format

• Language

• Regional settings

This makes the interface feel natural to their location.

🔑 API Tokens

Developers can:

• Create API tokens

• Manage existing tokens

• Revoke tokens at any time

This is used for automation, integrations, or custom apps.

⚠️ Danger Zone (Delete Account)

This section allows users to:

• Permanently delete their account

• Remove all files and data

• Revoke all sessions and tokens

This action is irreversible and requires confirmation.
