Trash is a safety layer that protects your files from accidental deletion. Instead of being removed immediately, deleted items are moved to Trash, where you can restore them or permanently delete them at any time.
When you delete an item:
It is moved to Trash
It remains there until you manually remove it
It does not count as available storage until permanently deleted
This gives you a chance to recover files you removed by mistake.
If you want to bring a file or folder back:
Steps:
Open Trash from the sidebar
Right‑click the item
Select Restore
The item will return to its original location.
If the original folder no longer exists, OwlCloudHost will recreate it automatically.
If you want to free up storage or remove sensitive files forever:
Steps:
Open Trash
Right‑click the item
Select Delete Forever
This action cannot be undone.
You can also empty the entire Trash at once using Empty Trash.
You can delete:
Files
Folders
Shared items you own
Items imported into your drive
Shared links attached to deleted files will stop working immediately.
Inside Trash, you can see:
File name
File type
Original location
Date deleted
This helps you identify the correct item before restoring or deleting it.
Trash is useful, but it can fill up quickly. To maintain a clean workspace:
Empty Trash regularly
Permanently delete large files you no longer need
Restore items you want to keep before they get buried
This ensures your storage stays organized and efficient.
